Lalong condemns bandits attack on community in Plateau North LG
Plateau State governor, Someone Balo Lalong has condemned the bandits attack on Yelwa Zangam community in Jos North Local Government of Plateau State that to the killing of 35 persons with several others injured.
CAPITAL POST earlier reported that the rampaging bandits have wiped out Yelwa community while carrying out attack on Tuesday at about 8.00pm.
But the governor shock over the
isolated attack where loves and properties were destroyed.
He urged security agents to intensify efforts, having arrested 10 suspects in connection with the attack and to ensure that other pepertrators were brought to justice.
In a statement by Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Lalong was furious, saying that security reports indicated that the attack was carefully planned as the bridge linking the village was said to have been destroyed in order to deny security forces access to the area during the attack.
He sympathized with the affected people and call for calm, assuring them that they will get justice.
The governor warned criminals that they will be pursued, arrested and dealt with, no matter how long it takes, as his administration will not allow the reign of terror to persist and rubbish all the investments made in restoring calm in the State.
