Abduction of students: Sadiya commiserates with Zamfara State government

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq has commiserated with the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Muhammad Matawelle over the abduction of school children from Agricultural College, Bakura and four others and also killing of three persons in Zamfara State.
The Minister in a statement issued by the
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Bashir Nura Alkali on Tuesday condemned the attack and prayed for the release of the abductees.
According to reports, school officials say those taken include fifteen male students and four other people, however two staff members and one of the kidnapped students escaped and returned to the school.
The report further said that the students were kidnapped on Sunday night from the College after armed men opened fire and killed the school security guards.
As at the time of the incident, the Zamfara State Police Command is yet to make an official statement.
While condemning the attack in very strong terms, Farouq sympathised with the families of the students and the others on the attack.
She assured the families of the victims that the Federal Government is working hard to secure the release of the students and the four others, and prayed that they would be released unhurt.
