A new Attah will soon emerge – Bello

Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has revealed that a new Attah Igala will soon emerge, stating that the process is in advance stage.

The last Attah Igala, Idakwo Ameh Oboni II died on the throne on 27th August, 2020 in a private hospital after he spent seven years.

The Igala kingdom has been without a monarch for barely a year.

But speaking on the process, the governor said the process for the appointment of new Attah of Igala is at an advanced stage and that the monarch will soon be unveiled.

His words: “The process is going on. It is almost completed. As soon as it is concluded we will make sure the announcement is made.

“I so much respect the traditional institution in Kogi State and I don’t want any imposition or manipulation whatsoever.

“Let the right person emerge. As soon as we have such person we will make sure he is confirmed.”
