FG disburses N1.5 billion to poor women in Kogi

About 74,000 poor and vulnerable women in Kogi State are set to benefit from the Federal government’s cash transfer.

The fund which is N1.5 billion would be disbursed to the women by the National cash transfer office to the women across the State.

Change of Name

Focal Person of the National Social Investment Programme, Abdulkareem Onyekehi Suleiman in a statement he made available to journalists in Lokoja on Wednesday, further disclosed that the money will be disbursed through a financial firm.

The statement noted that the financial firm, Fortis Mobile was engaged by the federal government to carry out the exercise.

He added that the sum of N20,000 as 4 months arrears of January to April 2021 to over 74,000 poor and vulnerable women in rural communities under close supervision of Kogi State office of the NSIP.

According to the statement, the Kogi State beneficiaries of CCT has been increased to 74,111, a development worthy of celebration, he said.

He further noted that the schedule of payment would commence from Monday, the 23rd August to Thursday, 9th September 2021.
