The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday announced the much awaited zoning arrangemement for political offices at various levels.
The zoning is coming ahead of 2023 general election.

The Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mallam Mai Mala-Buni, and Governor of Yobe State made the announcement on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said;

From the zoning arrangement, Nigeria’s Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan who hails from the Yobe State, North Eastern Nigeria would have lost the opportunity to contest Senate President for the second tenure.
Also the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila who hails from Lagos will not be back as Speaker as the party would not allow Speaker and the President to come from the Southern part of Nigeria.
This is however subject to the APC winning the 2023 general election.
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from all indications would zone its presidency to the North.
