As various interest groups within the ruling All Progressives Congress continue to canvass for different aspirants, a Youth group operating under the umbrella of APC National Network said, they were rooting for Senator Mohammed Sani Musa as National Chairman of the party.
The group noted that Musa, who is representing Niger East Senatorial District in the upper legislative Chambers has shown courage and charisma which was what APC needed at this time that the party shall be contesting one of the most difficult election so far.
Speaking when he led a delegation of the youths on a visit to the Senator on Monday, leader of the group, Usman Muhammad Apaya reminded party faithful that, President Muhammadu Buhari would no longer be qualified for a return ticket, but a fresh candidate, hence, the party needed a broad minded National Chairman and a strategist to navigate the party through the hurdle of opposition.
“2023 general election will determine whether APC would continue as a political party or not. When are going to feature a new candidate, since Buhari will no loner come back.
“We as APC National Youth Network in Niger State are looking at a broadminded element and a strategist who can go into opposition and draw them to the APC.
“We see these qualities in Senator Sani Musa and we are endorsing as the next National Chairman of APC.
According to the group, the lawmaker who is the Chairman of Senate Services Committee has business background to his advantage, even as power of persuasion was also required in leading a mega party like APC.
He further added that Senator Musa has Excellent presentation skills, Political knowledge, Bill sponsorship, Teamwork, Policy development, Political Campaigning, Analytical reasoning, Policy Negotiation and Leadership.
The group said, ”We are pushing for him because he is a progressive Senator with strong history of leading high-performance teams to meet or exceed objectives, dedicated and hardworking with internal drive to deliver excellence.
Responding, Senator Musa commended the youths for having interest of the party at heart, urging them to be focused and hardworking.
