NCPC boss lauds Nigerian pilgrims in Jordan for adhering to COVID-19 protocols

The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam has applauded Nigerian Christian Pilgrims in Jordan for adhering strictly to all COVID-19 protocols.

Rev. Pam while addressing pilgrims in Jordan urged then to ensure regular washing of hands, wearing of face mask and sanitizing their hands.

He said the Jordanian government has put in measures to ensure Nigerians safety during pilgrimage exercise.

“You should avoid mixing with the locals; adhere to all the protocols and maintain adequate hygiene procedures; put on face marks regularly and maintain social distance”. He said.

Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary, Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Plateau State, Fr. George Gorap has applauded Plateau pilgrims for their their maturity and excellent conduct at the ongoing pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Jordan.

He appreciated God for the safe arrival of batch 5 pilgrims to Jordan and commended Governor Simon Lalong for facilitating the smooth take-off of the pilgrims.

Fr. Gorap in a statement signed by Janet Jinawa said the prayer session with the pilgrims took place at Grand Palace hotel, Amman, the Kingdom of Jordan.

He urged the pilgrims to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocol stipulated by the Jordanian government to avoid being infected by the global pandemic.

“We should know that things are not like before, so many things have been put in place and I advise everybody to be conscious of every single announcement that is being made.

“Because of this pandemic, you have to wash your hands, keep yourself safe and don’t mix with the locals, don’t get contact with people unnecessarily and maintain social distancing to avoid contacting any infection.”

The Executive Secretary expressed gratitude to Governor Simon Lalong for sponsoring the highest number of pilgrims in the country, and admonished them to pray fervently for the peaceful coexistence and security of the state.

Rev. Fr. Gorap also urged the pilgrims to pray for the economic growth and prosperity of the people of Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
