Embattled Kyari quickly deletes Facebook post explaining connection with Hushppupi
The embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, who was indicted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation has has deleted a post on his verified Facebook where he explained his relationship with the scammer, Abbas Ramon, alias Hushppupi.
Kyari effected an arrest of Hushppupi’s ally Chibuzo Vincent, having been paid $20,600 which was about N8 million at the time to the Police officer.
Immediately his indictment was pronounced, Kyari had on 29th July, 2021 posted his defence detailing his relationship and his involvement in the transaction.
Since then, the statement has been eliciting reactions from Facebook posters who took time to criticise him and raising issues as to the morality of obtaining N8 million from the scammer.
Kyari’s Facebook showed that the statement was on Tuesday night deleted.
Kyari who command large followership denied his involvement and further averred that, “Hushpuppi raised the alarm that Vincent wanted to take his life, saying that upon arrest of Chibuzor, they discovered both were long time friends who have money issues between them hence we released the suspect on bail to go”.
He insisted that no kobo was taken from Hushppupi, adding that the arrest of Vincent Chibuzor was to save lives.
