Operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) on Monday took over the premises and surrounding of the Federal High Court located behind the Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja ahead of Nnamdi Kanu’s trial billed to commence in few hours from now.
Nnamdi Kanu who has been in detention since his extradition from Kenya is being tried for treasonable felony.
He is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a secessionist group that has since been proscribed by the Federal government of Nigeria.
All routes leading to Court premises have been barricaded by the security who have stationed themselves every where ahead of Kanu’s arrival.
Judiciary correspondents who arrives early enough are being denied access and turned back.
The DSS insists that they have list of media housea they would allow to cover.
Though the Chief Information Officer of the Court, Mrs. Christopher was already on ground as early as 6am, her spirited effort to secure a pass for some reporter proved abortive, as DSS officials insisted they must get clearance from their boss before allowing anyone outside the list to gain access into the court.
