2023: Senator James Manager kneels, confesses betrayal of Ibori – Source
Senator representing Delta South Senatorial district, James Ebiowo Manager was on Friday seen knelt before the former Governor of Delta State, James Onanefe Ibori in a viral video.
The trending video and other social media platforms has elicited reactions from Nigerians with each person passing judgement based on their perspectives of the development.
James Manager is a ranking Senator who has been in the National Assembly since 2003, while James Ibori was governor of Delta State from 1999 to 2007 and an ex-convict having been jailed in the United Kingdom for stealing and laundering Delta State funds in billions of hard and local currencies.
Sources close to the politicians while reacting to inquiries to authenticate the photo on social media and video, confirmed that the long time lawmaker knelt before Ibori.
He took CAPITAL POST down the memory lane that James Ibori and James Manager were members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at that time and Ibori was the Senator’s political godfather, before fate befell him after his tenure.
The source further disclosed that James Manager betrayed Ibori when he was arrested, detained and jailed in the UK, adding that throughout the period he served his jail term, the Senator never paid a solidarity visit to him while in prison.
Surprisingly despite Ibori’s long time away from Nigeria, during his travails, he was still a force to reckon with in Delta politics.
James Manager, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is aspiring for governorship in 2023 and he may be a major contender as the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who represents Delta Central was said to be contesting for governorship in 2023 general election as well.

In the picture, Senator Manager is seen wearing an Ankara outfit with a face mask below his chin and his hands folded while Ibori in a blue outfit sits on a red and black couch.
He confessed to Ibori for forgiveness while seeking to be supported in order to sustain the legacy of PDP in Delta State.
He formally told his former godfather to support his governorship ambition in 2023, but it couldn’t be confirmed if his apology was accepted before going to the press.
