Panic in Kogi as gunmen abducts Medical Doctor
Residents of Ugwolawo, headquarters of Ofu Local Government in Kogi East Senatorial district was on Monday thrown into panic mood as gunmen abducted a medical doctor working with the General Hospital Ugwolawo.
CAPITAL POST learnt that gunmen stormed the Local Government at about 8.30 am and took away the Doctor from the hospital premises having resumed work for the day.

Solomon Nidiamaka was taken to unknown destination and over 12 hours after, the Kidnappers were yet to make contact.
Confirming the development through a statement by the Kogi State Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, (NMA), Dr Omakoji Simeon Oyiguh and the association Secretary, Dr Famotele Talorunju, said Doctor Solo as fondly called was kidnapped on Monday.
”The State Officers of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Kogi State wishes to inform all concerned that our member, Dr Solomon Nidiamaka, who works at General Hospital Ugwolawo, Ofu Local Government Area was forcefully taken away by kidnapers around 8:30am today 19″ July 2021 from the hospital premises
“We call an the government of Kogi State and all security agencies to work very hard towards his early and safe release”.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), in Kogi State, DSP William Ovye Aya said the command is not aware of the kidnap of Dr Solomon Nidiamaka.
He however promised to get back to Journalists when he receive first hand information from the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in Ofu Local Government of Kogi State.
Kidnapping and all forms of criminalities have been on surge in Kogi lately.
