Dressed in black T-shirt with black headtie to reflect the dark days and situations, she found herself, a mother of one of the abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School in the outskirts of Kaduna wept profusely upon sighting Senator Shehu Sani visiting her residence on Sunday, 11th July.
The Senator who formerly represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district on Sunday visited one of the abductee’s parents, but his visit dramatically resorted to weeping and wailing even as the woman upon sighting Shehu Sani and his entourage burst into tears while uttering words of sympathy saying, “distinguished Senator, please help me, good Senator na only you I get ….(she spoke in pidgin english)….
Continuing, the woman who also spoke in Hausa said: … Na we get Nigeria, please help me….
Senator Sani who wore dark gogle fought to hold back tears as he watched the woman lamenting.
In the video of the visit which was obtained by CAPITAL POST, Shehu Sani and his entourage were seen trying to console the woman who had eventually collapsed, but the Senator and others made frantic effort to lift her from the ground and have her sat on the chair.
Sani’s visit came after 154 students were kidnapped from Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna on Monday last week.
28 of the abducted students were reportedly recovered, but the President of the School, Rev. Yahaya Adamu Jangado at a press conference last Tuesday disclosed that two security operatives lost their lives while exchanging gun fire with the bandits.
Rev. Adamu said bandits have contacted the school authority to confirm that they have 121 students in their custoday, while assuring them that the students are safe.
Rev. Adamu said: “For now, we know that we have 154 students in the School hostel as at Monday and after the exchange of fire between the soldiers and bandits.
“We came to the school and recovered 28 students; some of them his in many places and the course of taking them away, some of them escaped and came back to the School.”
