The Chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado has been suspended from office by the State House of Assembly.

The Kano State House of Assembly has suspended the Chairman, Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado.

Change of Name

His suspension followed the investigation launched against some projects which were executed by some family members of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The State anti-graft agency has been in controversy over the attempt by the Commission to unravel some alleged discrepancies in the project executions.

Rimingado’s suspension followed a letter of complaint sent to the House by the Accountant General of the state, who accused the anti-corruption boss of insubordination.

The anti-corruption boss had last week said the office of the Accountant-General lacks the legal power to appoint an accountant for the commission.

Reports said the anti-graft commission’s recent decision to investigate some projects including the Cancer Centre and the supply of diesel had pitted it against some members of the first family.

Rimin-Gado, who had confirmed the investigation, however, said it is not targeted against any member of the first family but the commission would leave no stone unturned.

It was gathered that the governor mounted pressure on the State Assembly to investigate Rimin-Gado over his decision to probe the first family.
