Anambra guber primaries: APC Appeal Committee promises to treat aggrieved aspirants fairly

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has assured the All Progressives Congress (APC), that he will address petitions brought before him by aggrieved Anambra state governorship aspirants fairly.

The Governor gave the assurance on Friday at the National Secretariat of the APC during the inauguration of the Anambra State Governorship Primary Election Appeal Committee.

The Gombe State Governor who also head the committee said “As Democrats we aware of the processes and as you rightly observed, you expect us to be fair, just and equitable in the handling of this assignment. We shall discharge our duty without fear and favour and we shall be fair and just in accordance with the guidelines issued in accordance to the constitution of the party so that we maintain ourselves as one big family.

“We have already gotten petitions from the aspirants and we shall trash them and find solution to all claims or observations made by the contestants. Five petitions are with us right now and we are given time within which we shall conclude with them.

“I would like to urge all contenders that have any reservations or misunderstandings with the results to get to us. We shall resolve all the issues and face the issue at stake, which is the election, which is Paramount”he added

He also assured the party that the committee will be timely in executing the assignments.

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe urged the committee to use the party constitution as a reference instrument in the discharge of their duties.

He charged aggrieved governorship aspirants to approach the committee to ventilate their dissatisfaction if any, instead of bringing the party into disrepute in the public space.

The five man committee are, Chairman, Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, Secretary, Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu, Sen. Julius Ucha, Hajia Maryam Mamu Salifu and Alh. Bukar Ali Dalori.
