2023: Youth can effect leadership change if allowed – Okorocha
Senator Rochas Anayo Okorocha representing Imo West Senatorial District in the Senate said Youth can effect leadership change if allowed to get involved in efforts to fix the country.
He gave the spoke at the Unity house, Abuja when he played host to a youth group, Nigerian Youth Alternative Council, NYAC, led by Comrade Nickson Odimbu.
Owelle Okorocha during the meeting stressed the enormous power youths possess, adding that the youths can effect a leadership change whether in an organized election or if allowed to be used as ballot box snatchers.
“I am happy that the youths in Nigeria have woken up and decided that they can no longer fold their hands and watch things go wrong in the country. ”
“Imagine what it will be like if all the youths that have decided to join Boko Haram and IPOB decided that they want to be agents of change in a more positive manner.”
“If countries like the USA, China and the UAE can do it, I don’t see why we cannot do it, because we are naturally more intelligent than they are, nations are scared of Nigeria because of our level of intelligence’’, he said.
“Leaders in Nigeria should realize that all the youths are asking for is to be given a level-playing field to achieve their full potentials and dreams.’
“So believe me when I say fixing Nigeria is doable”
“I recall about twenty three or twenty five years ago when I established the first sets of Rochas Foundation schools, I never thought that one day it will be counted as a plus for me.”
Speaking earlier, the President of Nigerian Youth alternative Council, Comrade Nickson Odimbu told Senator Rochas Okorocha that his work in the area of educational philanthropy has endeared him to hearts of many Nigerian youths.
“You have consistently used your positions in the corridors of power to effect positive life changing impact on many Nigerians.’
“You have consistently given to Nigerians without consideration for where your teeming beneficiaries come from, that is why we have come to the conclusion that you are the Breathe of Fresh air Nigeria needs at this time.”
“Nigerian youths are tired of burying their own, and we stand for positive affirmative action geared towards positive change in our nation.”
The Nigerian Youth Alternative Council has its branches in all the thirty states of the federation and Abuja and it is founded on the belief that it can achieve change through a non-violent political revolution.
The group led by Comrade Nickson Odimbu established on the belief that the time has come that the perennial problem of leadership in Nigeria can be resolved
