Ex-Liberian President launches Ivy League School in Abuja
The former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on
was the first to pay glowing commendation on The Aretean School, Abuja, as the school opened its doors to Abuja residents at the weekend to begin operations and achieve the dream of providing quality education to Nigerians based in the capital city.
The Areaten, a brainchild of years of careful and purposeful planning runs a British Curriculum and is focused on giving children under its wings sound and well-rounded education supervised by leading professionals with international certification.
The school is beginning its pre-term calendar with Booth camps for Football, Basketball and Swimming from the 5th of July, 2021.
Parents are rest assured that The Aretean will surely be an home away from home, as the premises is filled with fun things that will keep their children and wards educated and entertained, while at the same time receiving quality teaching from well trained teachers.
The first Liberian former female President was born in Monrovia Liberia. She got married in 1955 and, in 1961, she travelled with her husband to the United States where she studied Economics at Harvard University.
She also attended other higher institutions in the US and after her return to Liberia, she worked for the government, including as the Minister of Finance, prior to the military coup of 1980.
After having worked within the banking industry and at the United Nations, she was defeated in the Liberian presidential election of 1997. She was later elected as President in 2005 and then re-elected in 2011. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has four children.
Ellen took over a post war Liberia through a democratic process and made her indellible marks, one of which is her passion for education for African children, hence, it was a privilege that she was the first to launch the Ivy League School in Abuja.
