American’s based medical doctor turned politician, Dr. Godwin Maduka who got five votes in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries on Saturday has been in deep shock since yesterday that ten of his campaign coordinators reportedly disappeared with the sum of N225 million meant for party delegates.

Dr. Maduka contested Anambra governorship primaries on the platform of PDP, but lost woefully.

Change of Name

Reports said he released the sum of N225 million to ten of his campaign coordinators on Friday night in his hotel room preparatory to woo delegates to vote for him on Saturday, but the Coordinators were no where to be found with the money, a situation that led to his woeful outing on Saturday.

Reports further have it that the billionaire medical doctor is currently lamenting the abscondment of the money as sources hinted that he actually released the hard currency to the tune of $450,000 (about N225 million).

The primary election took place at Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka, the State Capital.

The money the source, said was meant for delegates from the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State.

The source said: “About 10 of his staff reportedly collected the cash from him at the hotel where he was lodging and became unreachable later on.

“Lion (Dr Maduka) is fuming right now. Some of his guys just disappeared into thin air with his money. I think they see it as their only chance to get anything out of Maduka.

“I believe they acted because things are not looking good for him as he does not have the required delegates to swing the primary in his favour.

“They must have connived to run away with the money because their numbers have been switched off.”

The angry Maduka was seen shouting at anyone who came close to him on Saturday at about 5.00pm while making effort to call.

All the ten coordinators who were given money the previously Friday night have switch off their phones.

His rival in their own faction, Valentine Ozigbo got 62 votes to defeat him.
