School age kidnappers released photo of abducted Kebbi students
Kidnappers of students of students of the Federal Government College Birnin, Yauri in Kebbi who also are of school age have released photo of some students captors and a staff.
The picture surfaced few days after about nine of the abducted students and a teacher were rescued by the security forces with one student dead in gunfire with bandits.
The abductees were seen kneeling down, while their captors stood behind brandishing assorted weapons.
The picture was reportedly released on Thursday 17th June.
The number of abducted students has not been confirmed by the Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Police or was there any official report since the incidence.
CAPITAL POST however, observed that only few number of the abducted students were captured in a photograph with the female students looking emaciated.
The background of the photograph looks like a forest, which the location cannot be known exactly yet.
Some online media reported that bandits who were heavily armed came on motorbikes
from the direction of neighbouring Rijau forest in Niger State.
While in a statement released on Sunday, Army spokesperson, Onyeama Nwachukwu disclosed that troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces successfully rescued three more students and one staffer of the Federal Government College, Yauri, Kebbi State.
The army said the troops also killed one bandit and recovered nine motorcycles and four mobile phones from the fleeing bandits.
Nwachukwu also said additional troops have been deployed to the forest to ensure the safe return of the remaining captives.
