When will President Buhari visits you? Usman Okai Austin asks Yahaya Bello
Kogi opposition voice, Usman Okai Austin Challenges Govenor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state to invite President Mohammed Buhari who he described as his father to come to Kogi State for a day’s visit.
It’s unfortunate our Governor who is also among the closest Govenors to Mr President can’t invite his father for a day visitation, and this is simply because as tradition demands, the President must xommision project and that is no where to be found in Kogi state.
Austin Okai who described the five years of Yahaya Bello led administration in Kogi state as a waste, challenges him to invite the President to the state and prove him wrong.
“Yahaya Bello always at the forefront of all the activities of the ruling party, but yet the state has nothing to show as the benefit of our Governor closeness to Mr President, lamenting the poor workers conditions, tell the governor to wake up to reality as Kogi state is crawling in terms of good governance.
“It is shameful and disgraceful that nothing works in Kogi state, what we are good at celebrating as an achievement is either the governor’s birthday, naming ceremony and others were you see sycophancy all in the name of loyalty at full glare.”
“Most of the cherised state assets are either in total disrepair or vandalised to the detriment of it’s citizens, yet we claim to have the youngest governor in Nigeria.”
“The civil service has been bastardised, with civil servants with enormous wealth of experience garnered over the years through the sponsorship of state resources cocooned to the dustbin of maladmnistration under Governor Yahaya Bello.’
‘What we see now, is high level misgovernance, pretentious political loyalty by the impoverished political clasc and appointees of government to achieve personl aims.”
“Pensioners who have served the state Dilligence and meritoriously are being ostracized,as their monthly pensions is being feasted on by the state government.”
“Local government administration is the hub of all corrupt tendencies as elected representatives at all levels can only bark but not bite, with council allocations the only sure bet for state government expenditure.”
He challeged the governor to open the books of State government to public scrutiny, through auditing of the accounts of the State and Local government by external auditors and making the reports open for public consumption, as th last audited reports of state books was in 2015.” This is an abberation, Okai fumed.
‘The Auditor General of the State and Local Government had turned emergency billionaires and celebrities with pilfered state funds to the detriment of all facets of the state government.’
