In a dramatic twist, the Kaduna State University Management reacting to shut down reports which were earlier published in some online news outlets on Monday debunked the shut down reports.
In a statement which was signed by the Public Relations Officer of the school, Adamu Nuhu Bargo urged the students, staff and the general public to ignore the report.
The statement said: “The Management of Kaduna State University wishes to inform Staff, Students and the general public to ignore the news being spread in the social media space regarding shutting down of the University.
“It is fake news in its entirety as well as the handiwork of mischief makers. Academic activities are in progress.
“Management urge everyone to carry on with their legitimate endeavours as it is partnering with security agencies in the State to ensure the safety of all and sundry.”
Though the statement which seems to be an ‘afterthought’ was silent why students were not allowed entry for their early morning lecture by the Security agents.

“Kaduna Varsity students shut out for protesting hike in school fees
“Students of Kaduna State University have been shut out of the school premises for protesting against the hike in school fees.
“Fierce looking Security agents while acting on the orders of the University management closed the gate and wouldn’t allow entrance of any student into the premises on Monday.
“Students were expected to resume lecture after a protest that made them pray against the State governor, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai for increasing the school fees over 200%.
“Our correspondent in Kaduna last week reported that Students in their thousands took to Hassan Ibrahim Kashim in protest and prayed on road in broad day light for Allah to touch the heart of governor El-Rufai to backtrack on hike in fees.
“Meanwhile the State government hasn’t issue a statement directly or through the State Ministry of Education in reaction to the protest or.the demands of Students.
“The sit-tight position of Kaduna State government on hike in school fees is, however, despite the intervention of some well meaning citizens of the State for the government to show understanding.”
