Borno Reps member dismissed aide for hailing Boko Haram leader, Shekau openly

Disappointed by his aide’s hailing of Boko Haram terrorist leader, Abubakar Shekau, a member representing Maiduguri metropolitan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Absulkadir Rahis has dismissed his aide, Bukar Tanda.

Shekau a notorious criminal gang leader who led Boko Haram fighters against the State with massive human casualties in the last ten years reportedly killed himself on Wednesday last week.

He detonated a suicide vest on him, as a factional gangsters, Islamic State in West Africa (ISWAP) engaged his camp and attempted to arrest him alive in Sambisa forest.

ISWAP is a breakaway of the Boko Haram insurgents.

But on Facebook account of the lawmaker’s aide on Thursday was his celebration of late Abubakar Shekau. He praised him for being courageous and died for the cause he believed in.

Tanda wrote: “lived a live of hero and died a true hero.

“I admire and appreciate his courage to terminate his life.

“He lived a life of a hero and died a true hero. He did it in such a way that not even traces of his corpse will be found,”

Atanda’s Facebook post about Shekau attracted wild and mild reaction which did not go down well with Hon who subsequently dismissed him.

In a letter informing him of his dismissal, Rahis said, “I wish to formally write and notify you of the termination of your appointment as my legislative aide, forthwith.

“Your actions, utterances and opinion of recent are at variance with my interest, that of my constituency and our great party, the APC.

“The letter also serve as a disclaimer to any action or position you took or wish to take, on any matter that may have the remotest connection with me as a person or my office.”
