Breaking: Two INEC offices burnt in Ebonyi
Two offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is currently burning at the time of filing this report.
The building and everything inside the offices are feared severely damaged.
The electoral umpire has also confirmed the incident on its official Twitter on Wednesday morning, saying the buildings were set ablaze the previous Tuesday night.
INEC said the affected buildings are in Ebonyi and Ezza North local government areas of the State and are believed to have been set ablaze by a yet to be identified criminal elements.
INEC Twitter said:
“Last night, Tuesday 18th May 2021, two INEC offices in Ebonyi and Ezza North Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State were burnt down by unidentified persons,” the electoral body tweeted.
It is recalled government offices and security agents have come under attacks in South East.
