Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani has reacted to the ongoing strike by the Civil Servants in Kaduna State which started on Monday.

Sani described the strike as justified, saying that workers have been pauperised by the State government over the mass sack carried out by governor Nasir El-Rufai.

In a statement he sent to CAPITAL POST on Monday, the foremost Civil Rights activist noted that bandits lives a better condition than Kaduna State Civil Servants, arguing that the mass sack and all forms of monetary denials has turned them into beggars.

Sani called on governor Nasir El-Rufai to reverse the mass sack and reinstate the workers without delay, adding that the perilous situation which the retrenchment exercise created has aggravated security situation in Kaduna State.

He said: “The strike action embarked upon by the NLC in Kaduna is commendable.

“The mass sack of workers in kaduna state has turned them into destitute, walking corpses and further aggravated the security situation in the state.

“Workers strikes and protest are fundamental and democratic rights and should be respected by the state Government and the security apparatuses in the state.

“Its immoral for any Government to build any economic structure with the Bones of famished people.

“Kaduna Bandits are living better than Kaduna Workers.

“I call on the Government of Kaduna to reverse the unjust massive retrenchment.”
