Breaking: Nigeria military bombing bandits’ hideout in Benue
Nigeria military is carrying out aerial attacks on bandits’ hide out in Benue on Sunday.
The bandits have been terrorising outskirts of Benue State with series of attacks that has led to deaths of many innocent people.
Sunday’s airstrikes against bandits has set pandemonium among residents of Makurdi the State capital.
Reports said, the military is bombing the bandits based on intelligence reports of their location.
It would be recalled that the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, had at the wake of hoodlums attacked on an IDPs center in the state capital, said over 70 people were killed in Makurdi Local Government alone by bandits in a space of two weeks. Since then the attacks have continue to escalate.
Before now, the military have been battling with bandits around communities in Benue State.
The bombardment was yet to be officially confirmed by military authorities, but the mood of the people in Makurdi metropolis was that of relief coming the way of the citizens, CAPITAL POST has learnt.
