Breaking: Abducted Kaduna Forestry College students released after two months

The abducted Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka in Kaduna State have been released on Wednesday.

Reports said all the remaining 27 of them were released by their abductors.

CAPITAL POST further learnt that their freedom was facilitated by the Islamic Cleric,Sheikh Gumi and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

CAPITAL POST recalled that 37 of them were initially abducted about two months ago from their dormitories out of which 10 were earlier released.

The students earlier released were believed to have been negotiated with ransom offered the abductors.

Though it was unclear if Wednesday’s release of the remaining 27 students was as a result of ransom payment, CAPITAL POST recalled that
their abductors had initially demanded an N500 million ransom from the Kaduna State which governor Nasir El-Rufai declined.
