Nasarawa Senator empowers Constituents living with disabilities
The Senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District at the red chamber of the National Assembly, Sen. Umar Al-makura has empowered more than 210 physical challenge persons as part of his constituency obligations.
Senator Al-makura who is the immediate past governor of Nasarawa State at an occasion the provided the succour to people he represented.
The occasion held at Lafia Special school a baby project of Senator Al-makura where people with disability were trained and empowered 210 technicians ranging from tailoring, mechanical electricians.
Some were trained on tillers, automobile engineering, electric welders, aluminium fabrication and blenders.
Addressing participants, he said: “This gesture is in line of my electioneering promises, called for collaborative efforts with Boundary Communities Agency to provide source of livelihood to the poor of the poorest in Nigeria. A federal Government plan to support and eradicate poverty.
“Let me also re-emphasise my commitment towards boosting economic activities of my constituents via improving family livelihoods.”
