Insecurity: Nigeria collapsing under Buhari, but not enough for him to resign – Taraba Senator
The Deputy Minority leader of the Nigerian Senate, Emmanuel Bwacha has described security challenges facing the nation as worrisome and reaching a zero level.
He said the situation at hand right now was pushing the nation into anarchy with President Muhammadu Buhari watching helplessly.
The lawmaker who spoke on Monday with reporters at his residence in Jalingo, Taraba State called for prayers for God to intervene rather than asking President Buhari to resign as being suggested in some quarters.
Bwacha maintained that the overwhelming insecurity in the nation has destabilised the country already, insisting that there was nothing short of God’s intervention in this circumstance.
“I does not know how Nigeria got into this mess of bandits, where no place in the country is safe.
“The country is sliding into anarchy which is dangerous for us Nigerians, we need to pray hard for God intervention.
“The primary responsibility of every leader and government is to protect lives and property, i support the call for state of emergency on security to enable the country survive.
“It’s only when lives and properties are being protected that you can move and interact freely and as well enjoy the provision of nature.
“The insecurity in the country is quite worrisome, we need God’s intervention. No place is safe in this country. I think God is not happy with us, we seriously need Prayers.
“The northeast is gradually moving to be a lawless zone, boiling violence, the Northwest has boiled and is gradually escalating to other zones of the country where if no proactive move is taken, we will not have the country standing again.
According to the opposition lawmaker representing Taraba South Senatorial district, the call for.resignation of Buhari wasn’t appropriate at this time.
“I do not support the call for President Buhari’s resignation over the increasing insecurity, I think God is not happy with us, Nigerians and we need to pray for forgiveness.”
Speaking on local crises in Taraba State, he called for dialogue among the warring tribes as a way of restoring peace, particularly in the Southern zone of the State.
“The crisis have brought a terrible situation, thereby making life difficult for the people.
“Our lands are filled with blood, everybody is guilty, corruption on the high. Everybody is involved in the mess that we are facing in the country.
According to him, he has been working out modalities with his Benue counterpart, Sen. Gabriel Suswam, whom his zone borders with, to ensure lasting peace and unity among the people.
The national lawmaker, therefore, encouraged Nigerians to be sober and look inward, adding that with God, all things are possible.
“Any Senatorial Zone can produce a Governor come 2023 Governorship Seat.
“The Governorship seat should start from the Southern Zone of the State, but where it pleases God, let it start from there. We are after competency and not enterprenuers”, he pointed out.

“Judgement is left to Tarabans, they should judge by themselves for the records are there. Taraba State need intervention. While on the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the State, he said:
