Nasarawa Assembly pledges support for State own Football club
The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe said the State legislature will support Nasarawa United FC, to excel in both domestic and continental engagements.
The support, he said, ranges from passing bills that will add value to Th NUFC, to achieve success in both domestic and continental soccer.
He stated this when the club chairman, Barrister Isaac Danladi presented him with number 3 jersey which symbolises him as third in command.
Balarabe expressed satisfaction with gigantic efforts of the club while enjoins them to keep the flag flying and build on the solid foundation the club has put place.
“I have been following the club events within and outside the state, and I most said I am proud of you guys.
“I want to tell you that both members of the Assembly and myself truly appreciate the efforts you are putting in place to uplift the status of the club to enviable heights.
“Nasarawa United is a household name, not only in the State, but the country at large, let me use this fora to commend the club Chairman, Barrister Danladi for exhibiting professionalism in handling the affairs of the club.
“I want you to consider all of us in the lawmaking business as partners in progress, and we won’t hesitate to give you and the club all the necessary legislative backing for the purpose of taking the state to greater heights.
On his part, Barr. Isaac Danladi told the Speaker that the visit was to appreciate him for all the wonderful support and kindness the Club has been enjoying from him.
He added that the visit was also to appreciate the Assembly members’ support to the club and the attention the club always get from the House during its budget defence.
“As a token of appreciation for all that you have been doing, we are here to present to you replica jerseys of our club so that you can use it to support us the more.
“Aside that, you have been an ardent supporter of Nasarawa United and this goes down to when you accompanied the Club during its Continental engagements in Algeria and Senegal respectively, some years ago.”
Barr. Danladi who is the Chairman, Nigeria Professional Football League Club Owners’ Association, assured the Speaker that the club would do everything within its powers to pick one of the available Continental tickets before the 2020/2021 NPFL Season comes to an end .
“I want to assure you this time around, that by the special grace of God, and with the support of the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule, coupled with the support of your members, Nasarawa United shall get a Continental ticket again.”
Recalled that after the end of the first stanza of the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League Season, Nasarawa United was placed 6th on the league log, with 30 points from nineteen matches, six points behind table-topping Kwara United.
However, the second stanza of the league will kickstart on 9th May, 2021, with the Solid Miners hosting Kwara United at the Lafia City Stadium.
