Benue State governor Ortom expresses anger over killing by Fulani herders in Benue [Video]
Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom has reacted to the killing of innocent people at the Internally Displaced Persons in Benue by Fulani herders.
He lamented that President Buhari deliberately refused to caution Fulani herders who vowed attacks on Benue indigenes because of anti-open grazing law.
Ortom who addressed Nigerians while laying corpses of the massacred IDPs said:
“It’s unfortunate development that what is happening that if the Federal government had taken proactive steps, today, we will not be where we are.
“These corpses you are seeing here in the last two weeks over 70 people have been killed just in Makurdi Local Government Council alone.
“This is not acceptable. Go to Guma, the same thing is taking place, go to Gwer West the same thing is taking place. It is not right. This is not acceptable.
“The Federal government has refused to take proactive steps to arrest this ugly situation we are witnessing here today.”
