IPOB’s militia arm moving bombs, explosive secretly to Imo – DSS
The Eastern Security Network (ESN), a militia arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra (ESN) have acquired bombs and explosive for purposes of destabilising Imo State in the Southeast Nigeria.
Intelligence report by the Department of State Security Services, DSS revealed that truck loads of erosive and bombs are secretly being moved to a hideout in Orlu Imo State.
The undercover police in a letter dated 26th April 2021 with reference number, S.238/5/1538 which was signed by I. Abdullah on behalf of the State Director, alerted the Brigade Commander, 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Owerri, Imo State on the development.
The letter was titled, ‘Movement of explosive devices into the state by IPOB/ESN’.’ was meant for subversive activities.
“It was reliably gathered that the newly acquired items are currently being conveyed from Lagos to an unconfirmed location in Orlu Local Government Area.
“The items are being concealed in articulated/heavy duty vehicles to beat security checks along the road.
“It was further revealed that the group intends to deploy the explosives in their planned attacks on security/government installations across the state.”
The DSS advised the Brigade commander to ensure a thorough check on all trucks and trailers coming into Imo State.
Meanwhile, Emma Powerful IPOB’s spokesperson denied the allegation when reacting to the claim by the Secret Police.
Speaking with select journalists, he explained that there was no iota of truth in the “allegation coming from the Zoo agent” called Department of States Security, adding that anybody or institution was free to say whatever they liked about IPOB.
