Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma may have temporarily relocated to Abuja following attack on his country home, Umuoma in Oru East Local Government Council of Imo State, last Saturday by gun men suspected to be IPOB militia.

The attack which saw an operative of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps guarding his ancestral home dead with official vehicles burnt was a rude shock to the governor according to sources close to him.

CAPITAL POST observed that the governor has been in Abuja governing from his residence in Maitama, a high brow area in the Federal Capital Territory.

Our correspondent reports that visitors ranging from contractors, political allies, some past and serving Senators, now frequents his residence in Abuja.

It was also discovered that some of his Commissioners and political aides do visit with files and documents for his attention.

Also back in Owerri, activities at the Sam Mbakwe house has been lull since Monday, but the entrance to the gate has been fortified with fierce looking combination of security forces.

Some of the governor’s political aides have virtually gone into hiding with nobody ready to answer questions on the whereabout of anybody.

The spate of attacks in Owerri in past weeks has been a source of concern to the governor. One of his aides who was sighted at the National Assembly on Wednesday confided in our reporter that the governor is worried over the worsening insecurity in Imo.

He said: “Our oga is worried. Look at attacks on the Nigeria Correctional Centre, State Command of the Nigeria Police and some police stations in Owerri. He is really, really worried. But where is he now? He has been in Abuja now.

It was observed that the killing of Ikonso Commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra militia arm and the Vice president designate by security forces further heightened tension in Imo and around Southeast States. While reacting, the leader of the now proscribed IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu vowed a revenge.

Moreso, the governor believes that some miscreants are being sponsored by some political elements who are dissatisfied with his style of leadership to destabilise his administration.
