He said calls for his sack or resignation by Nigerians should be ignored.

Change of Name

Though, Pantami has renounced his words, which he attributed to the lack of experience, calls for his or.resignation has been on swell in past weeks.

Gumi, a controversial Islamic clergy and Boko Haram negotiator said the embattled Minister should be allow a sigh of relief.

Pantami’s past support for global terrorists, Al-Qaeda and Taliban was a source of concern for Nigerians, who have expressed fears that a hardliner holding a strategic office thatbhas to do with Data Management was too risky for the nation.

Though, Pantami owned up to his words and made a renunciation, Sheikh Gumi however, said allegations leveled against the embattled Minister were false and should be dismissed.

“You cannot Islamise the whole world. Jesus Christ came; he could not Christianize the whole world. Nobody can Islamise or Christianise Nigeria,” Gumi said.

“All his actions, one hundred percent, shows he is not a terrorist. Those who are terrorists are after his life. The Minister should continue. His presence there is fighting the terrorist ideology.

“Show me one person he has killed. He has not killed anybody. He has not ordered the killing of anybody. Discard the fake news.

The man is stabilizing a government among a section of youths, which we want them to come and join in nation-building. They should not throw him away. Leave him. He is not a terrorist sympathiser.

“And you people are fighting them. No. You should get more people like Pantami and put them in power. It will stabilise. Don’t remove him. You’ll regret,” he stated.
