Kogi East PDP dissociates self from party ambassadors support group
Kogi East Peoples Democratic Party office has dissociated itself from the names being circulated on social media as Kogi East PDP Ambassadors.
In a statement from the PDP Kogi East zonal office of Alhaji Momoh Pele, and signed by the State Deputy Publicity Secretary of the party, Engr. Mohammed Kabir, the party said while its doors are widely opened to any support group that will encourage the State party activities or the zonal activities, it warned that, such activity must be in accordance with the party’s norms, constitution and rules.
The party said neither the zonal office nor the State Secretariat have prior notice before such gathering and inauguration.
The party call on the general public to disregard the names being circulated on social media.
Part of the statement reads: “Ordinarily, the party would not have commented or reacted to whatever is being circulated on social media in the name of politics.
“In a democratic environment, political group or organization are part of the democratic process, but that must be done in line with the party structure, its leadership must be adequately informed as PDP is not just a party, but a political party with a well structured organogram.
“To this effect, it is thereby imperative that the general public be informed that the Kogi East PDP zonal office is unaware of any group called PDP Ambassadors in Kogi East and with this statement the party is hereby dissociating itself from the so called group.
The party also encourage other affiliated groups at the National or State level not to forget in carrying the relevant organs of the party along in its activities as PDP is not a party without structure.
The party also calls on individuals across the nine Local Government of Kogi East who are yet to identify with the party to do so for the interests of the suffering masses as the ruling APC has failed in all rounds.
