Bandits abduct 20 persons at naming ceremony in Katsina

A mote community, Dandume in Katsina State came under attack with 20 persons abducted at a naming ceremony on Saturday.

Abductors stormed a naming ceremony at about 1.00pm at Gidan Bido village in Dandume LGA and kidnapped about 13 married women, according to reports.

Similarly, suspected gunmen invaded the nearby village, Gidan Bawa and kidnapped five men, which couldn’t be confirmed if they were the same gunmen that kidnapped women in Gidan Bido earlier.

The Policw Public Relations Officer of Katsina State Police Command,.Gambo Isah promised to verify and get back to journalists when contacted for confirmation.

“I will verify and get back to you ASAP.”

The onslaught of banditry activities in President Muhammadu Buhari home State has led to the kidnappings of many residents including over 300 school boys in Kankara last December.
