The attack left scores of vehicles of Police officers and suspects razed including offices and vital documents.
Sources also said the attackers were heading to armoury to loot the weapons, but were repelled by the gallant officers on duty.
As at this report, official statement was yet to be issued by the Anambra State Police Command, but an operative who spoke under anonymity said, Police made sure they don’t have access to the armoury because that would be the first thing criminals will target.
He said, “Our men prevented them from having access into our armoury. We know they will first target looting, so we heavily engaged them.”
A resident who watched the development from afar said there was heavy gunshots before the offices and vehicles were set ablaze.
