RCCG’s Adeboye banned from flying his helicopter
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has banned the helicopter belonging to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A Adeboye.
The chopper, AgustaWestland AW139, with registration number 5N-EAA, was grounded at Lagos Airport following the expiration of some of its papers and spare parts, according to reports.
The appropriate authority is now set to conduct vital safety checks on its safety-critical components, especially some spare parts that are due for replacement, hence, the chopper cannot fly on Nigeria Airspace now.
CAPITAL POST last week reported that the said chopper was delayed from flying Adeboye to attend a scheduled special meeting with all ordained ministers of the mission at the RCCG, Region 21, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital which made the Clergy arrived late.
Adeboye reportedly told the ordained ministers that some Airport officials demanded bribe from him to allow his flight from Lagos to Ibadan which he declined.
He finally flown on Bishop David Oyedepo’s chopper to the attend the meetingin Ibadan.
