Kogi: Hoodlums beat popular Radio Editor as medical doctors battling to stabilise him

The news Editor of a private Radio Station, Grace FM owned by Senator Tunde Ogbeha in Lokoja, Mr. Tunde Frederick was beaten to a pulp by suspected hoodlums on Friday in the State Capital.

Eye witness accounts said the hoodlums were five in number, who accosted him to Cemetry Road where the journalist went to fix his car before engaging him in an unprovoked attack.

Change of Name

The Police from Kogi State Command has reportedly commenced investigation, promising that those involved would be brought to justice.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, who was at the hospital where he was receiving medical attention was optimistic of getting at those behind the attack.

Frederick explained that the hoodlums told him that the Radio Station had previously exposed their illicit sale of sale of cannabis sativa, popularly called Indian hemp, along cemetery road their place of business.

According to him, the hoodlums were irked by a report by the radio station which they say is capable of affecting their business and patronage in Lokoja.

As at Saturday, Doctors were battling to stabilise him due to serious beating.
