Kwankwaso, Tambuwal in battle for soul of PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) North West Congress elections has exposed supremacy feud between the former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal.

Reacting to the development, the angry
Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, spoke to BBC Hausa reporter, Yusuf Ibrahim Yakasai, on Saturday accusing Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, of interfering with the Kano State politics.

Kwankwaso said “it is very unfortunate that Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, thinks that we, particularly the Kwankwasiyya members, are not supposed to lead the party in the zone”.

He continued saying “I bought the form, Aminu Waziri also bought the form for Senator Bello Hayatu, who is also from Kano State”.

Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso added that Aminu Tambuwal is interfering with the Kano State politics in preparations for the 2023 elections.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, responding to the allegations, denied interfering with the Kano State politics.

He added that “my elder brother, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, knew that we had earlier met at the house of the Sokoto State former Governor, Bafarawa, and concluded that whoever wants to contest for the position can do so”.

“I did not buy a form for Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo, he bought it by himself because he has the right to contest the position”, he added.
