A Minna based Legal practioner, Dr. Zakariyah Abdulsalam Bello, has requested the Judiciary staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) to find way of enforcing the Judgement against the 36 state governors and their respective Attorneys-General and Commissioner for Justice by applying form 48 and 49 against them.
He noted that the common man on the street and the inmates on awaiting trials across the Correctional custody were at the receiving end of the strike embarked upon by the Union.
He observed that the governors and their respective Attorneys- General have nothing to loose in the ongoing face between the JUSUN stressing that the Union instead of embarking on the industrial action they should approach the court for the enforcement of the judgement obtained in 2013.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with CAPITAL POST in his office in Minna, Dr Abdulsalam stated that the union should take another step of enforcing the judgement against the plaintiffs than embarking on the strike which according to him is an infringement on the right of litigants and the inmates who are languishing in the Correctional custody.
According to him, by the time the union obtained form 48 and 49 against the plaintiffs and were taken to correctional centre, they will be forced to comply with the judgement insisting that that will be the only way for the union to enforce the judgement.
“The face off between the Union and the goverment is an infringement on the right of a common man on the streets.
The union has the right to go on strike. But while exercising their right the right of the common man that suppose to approach the court for redress and that of litigants and the inmates languishing in the custodian centres have been infringed upon. I will advise that by the time they receive form 48 and 49 against the Attorneys-General and their Secretary to the goverments all of them were kept in correctional custody that will serve them better than embarking on the industrial action.
So l want to use this medium to advise the union to meet their lawyers for the enforcement of the judgement” he asserted.
