Four days after gunmen suspected to be IPOB’s militia arm, Eastern Security Network, raged Correctional Prison and the Nigeria Police Command, sporadic shooting is going on in Aba, a commercial town in Abia State.
Gun shots could be heard at the Police Area Command, CAPITAL POST has learnt.
Residents who are going about their normal activities are scampering for safety.
The source said, security operatives are shooting sporadically, having learnt that the gunmen are on their way to the Police Area Command in Aba.
Roads leading to Police Area Command has been barricaded and residents were told to remain in-door.
A source in Aba said security operatives have got intelligence that the gunmen that unleashed terror on security formations in Imo State are currently on their way to Aba Area Command.
It couldn’t be confirmed, if security operatives currently in Aba would be reinforced with more from the State Command in Umuahia, but the source said there is palpable tension all over Aba right now.
