Challenges are what makes Life interesting and overcoming them makes Life meaningful. The journey through and overcoming rough, tough and rocky road is better imagined, but with patience, perseverance, pure mind, clean hands and putting GOD in charge of the journey, arrival at the desired destination is assured.

Change of Name

In the last one and a half years to the last quarter of 2020, nobody would have expected the GODLY turn around being witnessed now. “After heavy rainfall always come sunshine,” and the sun is now setting and the tide coming.

Infact, all these preamble leads me to the story of the Child of destiny born and named ‘Abubakar,’ about five decades ago to His Excellency, Alhaji Chief Ibrahim Idris, former Governor of Kogi State, and the Newly Turbaned ‘Jakadan Sokoto’ as conferred on him by His Eminence, Alhaji Mohammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, on the 4th of April 2021, after which,
Chief Abubakar Ibrahim Idris was turbaned with the Chieftaincy title of ‘Wazirin Jakadan Sokoto,’ meaning, ‘The Successor to the ‘Jakadan Sokoto.’

As ‘Wazirin Jakadan Sokoto,’ Chief Abubakar Ibrahim Idris is given the statutory responsibility to handle matters of importance and very sensitive aspects of ‘Jakadan Sokoto’s office and to ensure His Reign is piloted successfully.

As the saying goes that charity begins at home, just in a span of three months, Chief Abubakar Ibrahim Idris got turbaned twice, first as ‘Ochada Onu’Ife’ in His ancestral Home of Omala Local Government of Kogi State, and now from the seat of the Caliphate as ‘Wazirin Jakadan Sokoto.’

These honor bestowed on him is not just the evident of his commitment to his immediate community, Kogi State, but also a pointer that the destiny of any man cannot be thwarted by mere mortals.

The former governorship aspirant and a strong contender at PDP primary election in 2019, his Excellency, Chief Abubakar Ibrahim Idris, ‘Wazirin Jakadan Sokoto’ and ‘Óchada Onu’Ife,’ is a force to reckon with; a rare gem with distinct and unrivaled leadership qualities, responsible gentleman with undying love for the people of Kogi State and their well-being.

With all these attributes, I believe strongly that Chief Abubakar Ibrahim Idris is the candidate to prefer for the highest seat in Lugard House come 2023/24 when he agrees to come on board, GOD willing.

Less I go off track from the event of the moment, on behalf of His Excellency, Chief Abubakar Ibrahim Idris and his teeming supporters with other Chieftaincy title recipients, I use this opportunity to congratulate His Excellency, Alhaji, Chief Dr. Ibrahim Idris, CON, former Governor of Kogi State, as he was conferred with the prestigious Chieftaincy title of the ‘Jakadan Sokoto,’ under which platform Chief Abubakar Ibrahim Idris is conferred with the Chieftaincy title of ‘Wazirin Jakadan Sokoto,’ to oversee the vital and sensitive activities of his office.

As the saying goes, to whom much is given, much is expected, hence, I have no doubt in my mind that You will live up to the meaning of your name “Abubakar,” which is ” Father of Excellence.” Especially having been raised in excellence, discipline with high level of leadership role and the fear of GOD, the sky is sure ‘your stepping stone to your desired destination.’

The Man ‘Wazirin Jakadan Sokoto’ is a successful businessman with specialty in hospitality business, mining, agriculture, logistics, etc.

Chief Abubakar Ibrahim Idris is a politician and former governorship aspirant, a humanitarian, a philanthropist and sociable with a high sense of humour.

He is a loving husband to Barrister Mrs Rekiya Abubakar Ibrahim Idris and they are blessed with wonderful children.

CONGRATULATIONS, ‘Wazirin Jakadan Sokoto,’ more feathers to your cap, and may your reign bring good tiding to the land.
