The embattled chairman of Shiroro local government area in Niger State Hon. Suleiman Dauda Chukuba has assumed office on Tuesday with the promise to face the security challenges bedeviling his communities.

The chairman who was reinstated by a Minna High Court No 4 presided by Justice Mohammed Adishetu Mohammed, last week Monday, was placed on suspension by his councilors on the allegations of financial misconduct.

He was equally petitioned before the governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello which led to setting up the Commission of inquiry to investigate allegations against him by the Local Government legislative arm.

Addressing newsmen at the Council Secretariat, Monday, Suleiman Dauda Chukuba said he had learnt his lesson from the incident that happened to him in the last four months during his travails and said, he has put that behind him adding that he will put his efforts in curtailing the security challenges bedeviling his communities in the last 7 years.

He noted that no meaningful development would be recorded in a crisis ridden environment, assuring that he will concentrate on embarking on aggressive development that would have direct bearing on his electorate.

According to him, Shiroro Local Government has under successive administration suffered monumental neglect as a result of political uncertainty within the elites of the area, stressing that all hands must be on deck to encourage development that will improve the well-being of the people.

“Shiroro Local government area has been lagging behind in terms of development. Its either one political crisis or armed bandtry.

“We should put our houses in place to bring development that will be of benefit to our people.

“We cannot bring development in an unhealthy and chaotic environment. I’m appealing to all people of Shiroro Local Government to let us put our heads together and move the local government area forward.

“We cannot achieve that development in a crises ridded environment” he asserted.
