Osogbo ‘dangerous’ cult clash leaves one dead
Two rival cultists engaged each other leaving a leader of one dead at Ita-Oolokan area of Osogbo in Osun State on Saturday.
The cult leader who was identified as ‘Pepper’ was killed following a gunshot at about 10:13 am.
A rival group stormed a house where Pepper was sitting and shot him dead.
A resident who spoke o the incident with newsmen said: “Pepper was a leader of the Eye cult and his group was waring with another group after they killed someone from their camp.
“Those that killed him stormed the house where he sat with guns, axes, cutlasses and other weapons.
“They came to the area on motorbikes. They launched an attack on him and shot him dead. They left the scene hurriedly.
“The attacked caused pandemonium in the area as some of us ran for safety.”
Spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.
