Nasarawa governor flag off COVID-19 vaccine distribution, commends FG
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has commended federal government for working round the clock to ensure the arrival of COVID-19 vaccine into the country.
He gave the commendation at the flag-off of the distribution programme in Government house, Lafia.
“Let me re-emphasise on our gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for his effort to ensure Nigeria receives its first batch of the vaccine. This is commendable.
Governor Sule who also gave applause to NCDC committee and Minister of Finance for the vital role they played at ensuring the country received the vaccine.
“Let me also at this material time express our profound appreciation to our State team under Commissioner of Health as well as those who continue to put all their efforts to ensure we receive our own first batch of the vaccine in the state.
He called on people of the State to use the opportunity, especially those considered frontline people who are daily exposed, particularly, Commissioners, traditional rulers who in touch with people everyday and majority of our staff.
“As you can see even Nigeria did not receive enough for a country close to 200 million in population.
“I understand that only 400 million doses and if we are supposed to receive 2 it means, it is only good enough for 2 million people but, 2 million people could be the same people who are daily exposed; they are the ones who are in the line of danger for this.
