Emir of Lafia praises Igala community for peaceful coexistence
The Emir of Lafia and Chairman Nasarawa State Council of chiefs, Justice Mohammed Sidi Bage 1 (Rtd), showered encomiums on Igala community living in Nasarawa State for conducting themselves peacefully over the years.
He gave the commendation during coronation of the new Onu Igala, Yunusa Ibrahim Momoh at the Emir’s palace, Lafia.
The State Chairman, Council of chiefs described Igala people as beacon of peace, not only in Lafia, but the entire state.
“We know Igala as traders who chooses peace, unity and oneness as their watch words for many decades now.
“I therefore, urge all of you to continue in same direction now that you people presented to us a new leader who will lead you.
He called on them to give the new Onu a maximum support and cooperation to enable him excel in leadership of Igala people in the State.
Justice Bage appealed to all and sundry to be respecters of constitutional authority, just as he told them to report any suspicious movement by any person or group of persons to the nearest police station for prompt action.
On coronavirus pandemic, Justice Bage remind citizens on the need to abide by protection protocols to avoid being contacted with the diseases.
In his vote of thanks, the paramount ruler of Akiri chiefdom, Alhaji Suleiman Umar thanked Justice Bage for the confidence reposed on the new Onu.

Abubakar Agwai described selection of Yunusa Ibrahim Momoh by Igala Community as a welcome development that ever happened to the community in recent times.
He advised the new Onu to embrace everyone for purposeful leadership.
“My word of advice and encouragement to him is that he should bury any differences he may have encountered during the struggle as he has now been chosen by Allah.
