Breaking: 38 Boko Haram fighters killed in encounter with troops [pictures]
Boko Haram fighters on Tuesday suffered heavily as they lose 38 members in an encounter with Nigerian troops.
The operation which took place at Chikingudu saw the troops lost two of their men too.
The operation was carried out by the Special Forces Brigade in Borno State at a community in Marte local government.
The terrorists were killed after troops were clearing Missene, Hausari and Chikungudu communities in Marte, engaged them in a gun battle.
CAPITAL POST gathered that seven soldiers also sustained injuries while fighting the insurgents.
32 AK-47 rifles, three anti-aircraft guns, three general purpose machine guns, two automatic grenade launchers (AGL), and two gun trucks, among other ammunition, were recovered by troops.
It’s recalled that the newly appointed Service Chiefs vowed not to surrender the sovereignty of Nigeria to the insurgents.
