Fisheries Cooperative elect officers in Nasarawa
The Federation of Fisheries Cooperative Limited, Nasarawa state branch have elected new leaders who will run its affairs in the next 4 years.
While announcing the results chairman of electoral committee, Alhaji Nasir Tanko declared that position of Chairman of the Cooperative goes to Comrade Bashir Mohammed Umar.
According to him other officers were elected and return unopposed except that of the Secretary whuch was highly contested by 2 members.
“I wish to announce to you that, Mr. Paul Aduniya has scored 51 votes and Nasiru Modi scored total of 21 votes.
The Chairman of the electoral committee, Alhaji Nasir Tanko confirmed, Mr. Paul Aduniya as winner for the position of secretary of the cooperative.
The state Chairman of federation of fisheries cooperative, Comrade Umar thanked members for the trust bestowed on him and other officials to run the affairs of cooperative.
He assured them that they will do everything possible to move the organization above board.
On his part, the newly elected secretary of the Cooperative, Mr. Paul Aduniya also gave his words “to work day in day out for the betterment of organization.”
Our correspondent reports that members across the 13 LGs and 16 Development Areas of the state stormed Lafia for the election over the weekend.
