Kogi Democratic Group,(KDG) has pleaded with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Nzewo Wike to invite Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to commission some of his projects in the state.

In a message to Governor Wike, Coordinator of Kogi Democratic Group, Abdul Abdul said this will enable Kogi Governor to distinguish between media propaganda and real democratic dividends to the people.

The group in a statement to CAPITAL POST on Saturday in Lokoja, said Yahaya Bello is Wike’s contemporary in governance as both are now serving their two terms, but unfortunately, there were no projects to commission in Kogi State in the last five years.

The statement said, Bello would be encouraged by the mode and system adopted by Rivers State Governor; that he will also learn how Nyesom Wike is doing it amidst economic downturn and COVID-19 challenges.

They lauded Rivers State governor for his forthright approach to governance while Kogi and other states are busy playing politics with the lives of their people.

Part of the statement read:
“The invitation to Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to commission projects in Rivers State will be an eye opener and a learning stage for his next three years.

“It will also give him the opportunity to partner with his counterpart and oppposition state capable of driving genuine development.

“If Nyesom Wike grants Yahaya Bello the opportunity to be in Rivers, he should be conducted round the State to see infrastructural development and Rivers governor should have a close door meeting with Bello so that he can ask how Wike has been paying full salaries to Rivers workers.

“It is magical and realistic at the same time, that Governor Wike keep commisioning and awarding new projects while other states of the federation are cut napping.

“This rare show of leadership qualities and intiatives of Rivers State Governor is worth learning by a State Governor like Yahaya Bello.

“The current pace of accelerated development in Rivers State will prepare Wike for a higher political office in the next dispensation”, the statement declared.
