Police nabs notorious fake currency printers in Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory Police authority has arrested notorious fake currency printers in a sting operation in Abuja.
Those arrested by the Wuye Division operatives are,
one, Kamal Haruna 27 years, Frank Onoja 46 years, Adejoh Steven 54 years and Guede Nelson 60 years all male, for being in possession of counterfeit Naira notes.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yusuf Mariam,
said, the suspects confessed to using the notes to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
“Exhibits recovered are: Five million seven hundred-thousand-naira (N5,700,000) counterfeit naira notes.”
She said, several arrests of.criminals has taken place across FCT atmdifferent times.
The statement further said: “The FCT Police Command has arrested Eleven (11) suspects for one chance, Fraud and armed robbery along Durumi, Wuye and Kafe-Life Camp axis.
“Amongst the suspects are : one Anthony Gambo ‘m’ 32years and Haruna Musa ‘m’ 25 years members of a seven-man robbery syndicate arrested by Police Operatives from Life Camp during routine patrol, after attacking and robbing a school at Kafe-Life Camp. Other robbery suspects are: Mustapha Mohammed 20years, Hamisu Umar 21years and Nazifi Mohammed 20years all male. Exhibits recovered are: one (1) HP Laptop and one (1) Apple Mac Laptop.
“In another development, Police Operatives from Galadinmawa arrested one Charity Timothy 23years ‘f’ and Sunday Godwin 23years ‘m’ along Durumi axis for one chance robbery.
“The suspects confessed to terrorizing residents along that axis. Exhibits recovered are: one (1) red colour Volkswagen reg no. BWR 903 HE.
Plolice stated that all the suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.
