Bandits abducts 50 passengers on Minna-Zungeru again
About 50 passengers were on Tuesday abducted on Minna-Zungeru Road, making it the second time in less than one month.
CAPITAL POST reports that a gang of daredevil gunmen stormed Minna – Zungeru high ways and abducted pesengers in commercial buses.
The incident took place at about 6.15 and source said, the travelers ran into the abductors on the high way, who wielded sophisticated weapons, and threatened to shoot the buses in which the passenhigers were traveling in.
The Passengers, it was gathered, were returning from Kagara after the janaiza (burial) rite of the Emir of Kagara Alhaji Salihu Tanko who passed away on Tuesday.
Sources said, some of the armed bandits were dressed in Army comouflage, with Ak47, which made passengers to be unsuspicious of any security threat initially.
Bandits were said to be on the scene of operation for two ours without security intervention, CAPITAL POST gathered.
It was recalled that bandits, stormed the same road where the Niger State Transport Authority (NSTA), passengers were abducted late last month.
